San Francisco, California, May 11, 2022 – Power Factors, a renewable energy software provider whose platform is the most extensive and widely deployed solution in the global market, has bolstered its Latin American presence with three new sales hires.
Based in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, the expanded Latin American team will support current and future customer engagements across the region, building upon Power Factors’ track record in Latin America.
Already supporting customers with assets in more than 10 countries in the region and a combined renewable energy portfolio capacity of over seven gigawatts, Latin America represents one of the fastest growing markets for Power Factors’ purpose-built software solutions for asset management, field service optimization, and performance optimization.
In addition to wind, solar, and storage assets, the company recently added capability to support hydroelectric assets. This builds on an established track record of financial and technical management functionality already in place for hundreds of megawatts of global hydroelectric production. The addition makes Power Factors’ solutions well-suited for Latin America and the market’s growing need for managing diverse renewable energy portfolios including hydroelectricity.
Jason Selfe, Regional VP at Power Factors, said, “The renewables market in Latin America is unstoppable right now, with 18 gigawatts of wind, storage, and especially solar expected to come online in 2022. As well as being a global leader in hydroelectric power, Brazil accounted for more than 4% of global wind installations in 2021, with some of the highest capacity factors in the sector. Colombia is set to lead the charge into offshore wind. And the renewables markets in Chile and Mexico are also buoyant. We have a strong track record in the region and are preparing for sustained growth as nations accelerate their energy transition.”
As one of Power Factors’ longest-standing customers in Brazil, French IPP Qair will soon be managing the performance over 600 megawatts of operational renewable capacity on the Power Factors platform. Chloe Finot, Operations Director at Qair said, “In today’s global renewable energy market of technologically and geographically diverse portfolios, establishing a culture of asset optimization is crucial to achieving operational excellence.”
Stakeholders in the Latin American renewable energy sector are invited to meet the expanding Power Factors team at this month’s National Seminar on Electric Energy Production and Transmission (SNPTEE), taking place on May 15th-18th in Rio de Janeiro. Schedule your meeting here.
