Written by Power Factors | Aug 22, 2024 1:01:28 PM

Welcome to the Power Factors Product Spotlight. A roundup of new product features and enhancements to existing functionality designed to give you unparalleled control over your data.

August’s product feature introduces notable enhancements to our Field Service Management (FSM) solution, formerly named Drive O&M. In case you missed the introduction of our all-new Power Factors website featuring our Unity renewable energy management suite (REMS), as part of our journey to unite our solutions under the Unity brand, our applications have been renamed to highlight the features and capabilities each provides.

Designed to streamline inspection processes and proposal management, the latest enhancements to Field Service Management provide greater flexibility, efficiency, and accuracy for your teams, allowing them to focus more on the actual work and less on the paperwork. Here’s what’s new:

New Product Features for Field Service Management (FSM)

  • Form Builder Interface
  • Proposals Tool

Customize inspection forms with our Form Builder

Our new drag-and-drop Form Builder makes it easy to create inspection forms tailored to your unique needsno coding needed. The intuitive interface lets you arrange fields such as picklists, radio buttons, checkboxes, long text, and signatures effortlessly. With over twenty built-in question types as well as the ability to create custom questions, you can configure your form precisely to capture the exact data your team needs.

Traditional paper-based inspection methods are prone to errors, time-consuming and difficult to manage. These enhancements to our digital inspection forms are designed to help your field teams work more efficiently, reducing the risk of mistakes and omissions. This, in turn, ensures more accurate and reliable data is captured in the system, leading to better decision-making and reporting.

Thanks to dynamic conditional logic, your forms can respond to your input, showing or hiding sections as needed. For example, if a user answers "Yes" to a particular question, additional relevant questions might appear, while answering "No" might hide those questions. This ensures you capture only necessary information, making the form easier to complete.

The forms are fully responsive across devices—desktop, mobile, or tablet—allowing your teams to fill them out on the go, adapting to changing requirements seamlessly. Once completed, the inspection data is instantly synchronized with our FSM system for immediate reporting and analysis. Additionally, forms can now be combined with work order service reports, simplifying the process of compiling and sharing final reports with customers.

Create accurate proposals with our new Proposals tool

Our new Proposals tool simplifies the process of creating accurate and detailed estimates for work orders. You can now generate comprehensive proposals that clearly outline the scope of work, itemize costs for plant parts, and include any additional miscellaneous expenses, ensuring you don’t miss a thing.

Field managers and client service managers will find this tool especially useful for providing clients with transparent estimates. Your proposals will clearly communicate what clients are paying for and what to expect, helping them manage their resources and budget with confidence.

This tool also allows you to secure client approvals before starting any fieldwork, improving communication and reducing the risk of misunderstandings or disputes. Once the proposal is approved, the tool automatically closes any related proposals and seamlessly converts the estimated costs and parts into actuals for the final invoice.

In addition, the ability to send proposals to clients via the Activity function ensures a smooth and streamlined process from proposal creation to client approval and invoicing.

Overall, the new Proposals tool simplifies your work order management, making it easier to provide accurate estimates, secure approvals, and maintain clear communication throughout the project.
