Power Factors has completed the commissioning of the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and power plant controller (PPC) in a 204 MWp solar power plant in northern Greece.
Consisting of 18 subfields, the plant covers an area of around 4,500 acres. It is one of the largest PV power plants in Europe using bifacial solar modules and is expected to deliver enough energy to power 75,000 homes and offset 300 metric tons of CO2 per year.
For this complex project, Power Factors successfully delivered local and cloud SCADA plus a multi-level PPC consisting of dual redundant primaries and 18 secondaries.
Together, these solutions implement a variety of services including a revenue-optimizing and auto-balancing combination of apparent and active power curtailment management across the subfields, as well as ancillary voltage support services, directly connected and interfaced to the local energy exchange.
