Power Factors has completed the commissioning of the power plant controller (PPC) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) in two utility-scale solar plants located south of Dallas, Texas, USA.
With a combined DC capacity of more than 320 MW, the two plants have 360 central inverters and more than 700,000 solar panels. They are expected to generate more than 520 GWh of clean electricity per year—enough to power 52,000 homes and offset 379,000 metric tons of CO2 annually.
With approximately 1.5 GW of utility-scale PV sites in Texas/ Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) territory, all following the applicable North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards, Unity SCADA provides the means for effective management of the projects throughout their lifecycle while the PPC guarantees the smooth integration with ERCOT and the local grid through its efficient frequency response (FR) and automatic voltage regulation (AVR).
