Power Factors has successfully completed the deployment of its Power Plant Controller (PPC) for a single-location 1.2 GW solar plant in the United Arab Emirates.
The PPC controls hundreds of inverters and multiple capacitor banks to regulate active and reactive power, providing, among others, voltage and frequency support to the grid.
The size of the plant calls for a resilient and fault-tolerant system architecture, which is provided by our fully redundant PPC augmented with a redundant fiber-optic network design performed by our IT architects.
The redundant nature of the whole design has been proven during multi-day testing with the grid operator. The tests confirmed that the system can provide all the required functionality in several corner cases as is in normal operating conditions.
