Power Factors’ SCADA and PPC Operational for One Year in 90 MW PV Plant in South Africa
Power Factors’ supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system successfully completed a year of operation in a 90 MW DC / 75 MW AC project in South Africa.
The local SCADA enables detailed monitoring and control of the plant either remotely or from the dedicated control room located within the plant battery limits and controlling inverters, substations, circuit breakers, and reclosers.
The electricity generated by the solar plant is delivered to Eskom, which is also able to operate the plant remotely through the power plant controller (PPC).
ESKOM certified the grid interoperability of the PPC and the overall solar PV plant through a rigorous compliance procedure during the plant commissioning a year ago.
