In early 2018, Power Factors established a local presence in Australia and has since provided complete supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) hardware solutions for two PV generation plants; 70 MWp in southeast Queensland and 125 MWp in central New South Wales.
When complete, both systems will utilize our SCADA, power plant controller (PPC), and central management system (CMS), which have been well-received by the local asset managers, EPCs, and investors.
To comply with strict regulations, our SCADA system delivers concise operational data to the network service providers (NSP) and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) while receiving generator dispatch instructions from AEMO and network protection commands from the NSP via separate communications paths.
Following this success, Power Factors delivered SCADA solutions to another two new projects totaling 280 MWp and SCADA upgrades to four existing plants totaling 365 MWp that benefit from the smart monitoring capabilities. Projects utilizing the PPC and energy storage PPC were completed within 2020.
